To our amazing hosts!
Hey there! It’s another two months’ worth of host letter with two months of winners…
As always, we’re actively looking for more tour hosts, so if you have any blogger friends, let them know you love working with us and they should, too! To have them become a tour host, they can fill out the form at this link.
We do have one very important thing to discuss this time around. We’ve gotten several complaint from authors who can’t find posts for their tours. We’ve had a few hosts who literally have a dozen or more posts every day on their blog, so some posts are buried on the third or fourth page. While we don’t require that we’re the top post (though it’s always great to be!), we would ask that our tour posts show on the first page of your blog. One option is to truncate your posts so that only a “teaser” for the post shows (here are a couple of examples of blogs that do this – one on blogger and one on WordPress: http://lauries-interviews.blogspot.com/ and http://www.longandshortreviews.com). This way you can post more than once per day, but the stops are easy to find and right on the front door.
Also, if you have a day when your post doesn’t go up on time and we email you a reminder—please, please, please respond when the post is live. We try to check later in the day, just in case, but the sooner we know, the better for everyone. Just a quick response to our email “Hey, it’s up!” and the permalink is so appreciated.
Lastly, please cross post your reviews timely. We get emails from authors who are super anxious to see your reviews on Amazon, GoodReads, etc. They start haunting the sites the day the review posts and they’re bouncing off the walls with anticipation. So, please take a few minutes to cross post your reviews as soon after posting as possible.
One last note: it’s also helpful to have an easy to locate search box on your blog (it should be at or near the top for best access). Thanks all!
As always don’t forget, you can VOLUNTEER for tours that meet your needs, either by subscribing to the Goddess Fish Promotions tour blog to see new tour postings as they are posted (never miss a new tour!), following the RSS feed or just by checking the top where we link all the open tours.
Remember: We award a $10 Amazon GC every week to one lucky host. EVERY HOST who posts on time that week will be entered if they miss NO posts for that week. You earn an entry for every stop you host, but if you miss even one for the week ALL entries for that week’s drawings are nullified. The prizes will be sent automatically each Wednesday.
Also, every single review only tour has *at least* a $5 Amazon GC prize for a host, and most have other prizes. Don’t overlook review tours as a chance to win more prizes! Just ask our hosts who win regularly!
And, one last reminder before I announce this month’s contest winners: all winners below must CLAIM their prizes. If you win, you’ll need to email us and claim the prize or you won’t get your winnings. To claim your prize – please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with “HOST PRIZE WINNER” in the subject, and your name, the prize you won and the tour it was for in the body. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE as it might be overlooked. You have one week from the date of this email to claim your prize or it is forfeit.
This month’s SURPRISE CONTEST!! As always we have a few folks we’re rewarding with a contest we don’t announce in advance. We had a few Facebook parties this month and some of our hosts attended (and won things!). We put all the names into random.org and pulled two—the winners of a $5 Amazon GC are:
Independent Authors and Harlie’s Books! Please email us to claim your prize.
You never know when we decide to reward good behavior. Will it be you next month? Do you retweet? Like/share Facebook posts? Do you help us when we need urgent help? We pay attention and will be doing something unexpected every month. But… you’ll never know what behavior will get a reward!
REMEMBER! We are going to be offering another giveaway for our hosts – we’ve noticed many of you use the basic blogger header (which just has your blog name and nothing at all graphic-wise). Additionally, it’s possible even those of you with great blog headers would love another kind of graphic … maybe a social media header or a banner to advertise your blog. Therefore, we’re going to be drawing one name every host letter to win a graphic design creation of either a blog header or social media cover. We’ve recently hired a new graphic designer and she is really amazing. We want to share her talents with you!! There is one “catch” – you have to have hosted at least four tours for us the previous month (that’s only one a week, easy peasy). To participate, complete the rafflecopter, here: http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/28e4345f2287/ – closes May 8th.
Now… to our regular contests! Remember, I’m doubling up this month to make up for missing last month’s host letter. Next month, we’ll be back to normal (I hope!):
