To our amazing hosts!
I can’t believe this is the final host letter of the year. Time has really flown by! Thanks for another great year – you guys are awesome.
First off and VERY IMPORTANT – we’re doing our annual host list update. We need everyone to fill out the new form if you want to keep on hosting for us (and we sure hope you do!). Here is the link:
We’ll be switching over to that form come January 1st, so please fill it out ASAP. Also—tell your blogging friends to join us, too! We’d love to have them.
We are planning on making some changes after the first of the year. We’re hoping to implement them effective January 1, but it depends on how quickly we can get everything switched over. We’ve had some hosts indicate that they’ll be unable to continue hosting unless we provide HTML for them to post on their blogs, so our intention is to create HTML for all promo only tours and include it in the tour packet. However, we strongly urge our hosts to create unique posts instead of using the HTML—everyone has a way they prefer to set up their posts on the blog, and we appreciate the differences on those posts. Also, folks who use a free WordPress site are very likely to have their blogs shut down as “spam” if they consistently use HTML (which is why we stopped doing it in the first place).
Also, we’re planning on starting to use a Google form for tour sign-ups on all tours (not just the book blasts). Our concern has always been the dates assigned (I have visions of 15 people wanting the same date), but hopefully that won’t be an issue. Blogger has been not sending us all the comments, so we’ve been unintentionally overlooking some folks who want to host, and that’s just right. This may take a little longer to implement, but you should be seeing it showing up on the tour posts and in the invitations soon. We hope this will make things better for you!
We’re planning on starting to feature various bloggers on our own site blog next year. Keep an eye out for that. Not sure exactly when it’ll be starting, but it should be soon. We need to create the form and decide on questions. We want to give you all as much support as we can.
We want to make sure you understand that lines of communication are open with us. Any questions, comments, suggestions, concerns? We welcome them all! Just let us know.
As always don’t forget, you can VOLUNTEER for tours that meet your needs, either by subscribing to the Goddess Fish Promotions tour blog to see new tour postings as they are posted (never miss a new tour!), following the RSS feed or just by checking the top where we link all the open tours.
Remember: We award a $10 Amazon GC every week to one lucky host. EVERY HOST who posts on time that week will be entered if they miss NO posts for that week. You earn an entry for every stop you host, but if you miss even one for the week ALL entries for that week’s drawings are nullified. The prizes will be sent automatically each Wednesday.
Also, every single review only tour has *at least* a $5 Amazon GC prize for a host, and most have other prizes. Don’t overlook review tours as a chance to win more prizes! Just ask our hosts who win regularly…
And, one last reminder before I announce this month’s contest winners: all winners below must CLAIM their prizes. If you win, you’ll need to email us and claim the prize or you won’t get your winnings. To claim your prize – please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with “HOST PRIZE WINNER” in the subject, and your name, the prize you won and the tour it was for in the body. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE as it might be overlooked. You have one week from the date of this email to claim your prize or it is forfeit.
We drew the winner of last month’s Graphic Design Giveaway (see down below for more details on this host only contest). Please email us at email@example.com with “HOST GRAPHIC DESIGN WINNER” in the subject to claim your prize. The winner is:
Lisa Haselton’s Reviews and Interviews. Please email us to claim your prize.
Please note, we’re discontinuing the contest for now. We may bring it back, though, so keep an eye out for it!
This month’s SURPRISE CONTEST!! As always we have a few folks we’re rewarding with a contest we don’t announce in advance. Everyone who hosted tours for us since the last host letter got put into the pot this time. As our thanks, we put all the names into random.org and pulled one—the winner of a $5 Amazon GC is:
Fabulous and Brunette! Please email us to claim your prize.
You never know when we decide to reward good behavior. Will it be you next month? Do you retweet? Like/share Facebook posts? Do you help us when we need urgent help? We pay attention and will be doing something unexpected every month. But… you’ll never know what behavior will get a reward!
EXTRA GIVEAWAYS! We sent out a cry for help about a week ago to help fill our review only tours. We offered a special giveaway (a $20 Amazon GCs and 4- $5 Amazon GCs). For every review tour the host volunteered for, they got one entry. Here are the winners:
$20 Amazon GC – Notes from a Romantic’s Heart
$5 Amazon GC – books are love
